Chandigarh Mayor inaugurates Acer EV showroom, promotes green mobility

Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi inaugurated the Acer EV showroom in Sector 22 on Monday, reinforcing the city’s focus on promoting sustainable, environment-friendly transportation. The showroom is expected to offer residents affordable electric mobility solutions, as fuel prices continue to rise and demand for cleaner transport increases. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Jasman Singh, Deputy Mayor Suman, area councillor Damanpreet Singh, nominated councillor Umesh Ghai, EBG Group Founder Dr Irfan Khan and Chandigarh in-charge Suresh Goyal.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Irfan Khan said the EBG Group has launched the Acer EV range across India, comprising electric motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles designed to provide a dependable and sustainable alternative to conventional fuel-powered vehicles. He said the products combine modern technology, a wider range, and lower operating costs to meet the evolving needs of consumers. Dr Khan said that while the EBG Group has built a strong presence in the wellness sector, it is also expanding into multiple industries, focusing on innovation and sustainable development. He added that the new showroom in Sector 22 will improve access to electric mobility solutions for Chandigarh residents.

Chandigarh in-charge Suresh Goyal said the growing concern over rising fuel prices and environmental sustainability has increased demand for electric vehicles. He said the showroom will offer customers electric motorcycles, scooters and bicycles along with comprehensive after sales support and a convenient buying experience under one roof.

Mayor Saurabh Joshi welcomed the initiative and reiterated the importance of adopting clean and sustainable modes of transport. He said he would soon be seen riding an electric bicycle to encourage more people to embrace green mobility. Expressing confidence in the initiative, he said such efforts would help build a cleaner, greener Chandigarh.
