The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Northern Region, organized Capital Connect: Strategies for Fundraising and Growth at its Northern Region Headquarters in Chandigarh, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, financial institutions, and market experts to discuss strategies to improve access to capital and support enterprise growth.
The conference focused on helping businesses understand the evolving funding ecosystem and the financing options available to support expansion. Discussions centered on enabling enterprises to make informed fundraising decisions, strengthen financial preparedness, and navigate the changing investment landscape through expert insights and industry perspectives.
Addressing the conference, former Securities and Exchange Board of India Executive Director V. Sundaresan highlighted the importance of putting available capital to productive use as India moves towards its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. He said the conference provided a timely platform to bridge the gap between capital providers and businesses while emphasizing the need for effective planning. He noted that making productive use of available capital is essential and added that, as the saying goes, “Failure to plan is planning to fail.”
The conference featured two technical sessions that examined fundraising from different perspectives.
The first session, “Banking and Beyond,” explored innovation in banking, alternative debt financing and the growing role of credit rating agencies in strengthening businesses. The second session, “Navigating the Capital Landscape: From Debt to Equity,” focused on identifying the right funding mix, evaluating financing options, selecting suitable IPO platforms and preparing for successful capital raising through due diligence.
Industry leaders also shared their fundraising experiences during a dedicated experience-sharing session, offering practical insights into overcoming financing challenges and identifying growth opportunities. Through expert discussions and meaningful industry interaction, the conference reaffirmed CII’s commitment to equipping businesses with the knowledge, networks and strategic guidance needed to access capital effectively and accelerate sustainable growth.
