Patiala, June 22
A video showing a violent clash between two groups near Patiala’s 22 Number Railway Crossing has gone viral on social media, prompting police action. The footage reportedly shows people from both sides fighting.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Civil Lines Police Station, Patiala, Vinaypreet Singh, confirmed that the video is from the previous day. He said police have detained some individuals from both groups in connection with the incident.
“We want to make it clear that anyone who takes the law into their own hands in Patiala will face strict action as per the law,” SHO Vinaypreet Singh said.
The incident comes days after another crime was reported near the same location, where a migrant youth was allegedly killed by a Nepalese national. A video of the assault related to that case had also circulated widely on social media.
Police officials said maintaining peace and law and order remains a priority, and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
