Dharamshala, June 4
A Punjab Roadways bus met with an accident near the Dharamshala bus stand on Thursday morning at around 7:30 am after reportedly suffering a brake failure on a sharp downhill turn.
According to initial information, the driver lost control of the vehicle as it approached a steep curve near the bus stand. The bus subsequently collided with a roadside safety barrier.
Eyewitnesses said the bus was unable to slow down as it negotiated the turn, leading to the crash. A nearby migrant labourer alerted locals about the incident shortly after it occurred.
Fortunately, the parapet and roadside safety barrier prevented the bus from sliding farther, thereby averting what could have been a serious accident in a crowded area.
No injuries have been reported in the incident. Following the crash, locals gathered at the site, and the vehicle was later assessed for damage. Authorities are expected to look into the cause of the alleged brake failure.
