Kullu, June 1

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a decisive victory in the Manali Assembly constituency by winning all four Zila Parishad seats, while the Congress failed to secure a single seat in the area.

The results further strengthened the BJP’s position in the constituency after the party had earlier won all seven seats in the Manali Municipal Council elections. BJP-supported candidates emerged victorious in all four Zila Parishad wards under the constituency.

In Vashisht ward, BJP-backed candidate Thakur Das secured a win, while Anil Rana emerged victorious from Larankelo ward. Raj Kumar Thakur won the Dugilag ward by a significant margin, and Jindu Thakur clinched victory in the Katrai ward.

Speaking after their victories, the winning candidates credited party workers and supporters for their success, saying their dedicated efforts and continuous campaigning played a key role in the outcome. They also pledged to fulfill their commitments to voters and to work towards the development of their respective areas.

The candidates described the result as another major setback for Congress in the Manali Assembly constituency, claiming that voters had once again expressed confidence in the BJP.

Meanwhile, Manali Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gunjit Singh Cheema said the election process, which had been underway for nearly a month, concluded peacefully. He confirmed that the results for Panchayat Samiti members and all four Zila Parishad wards had been officially declared.
