Polling for the second phase of Panchayati Raj elections will be conducted in 85 panchayats across Kullu district on May 28, officials said on Tuesday.

District Election Officer (Panchayat) and Deputy Commissioner Anurag Chandra Sharma said all election related arrangements have been completed, and polling teams have already reached their designated locations.

Voting will take place from 7 am to 3 pm across 487 polling stations established for the second phase. The administration has deployed approximately 1,948 polling personnel and nearly 974 security personnel to ensure a smooth, peaceful polling process.

According to officials, 1,03,797 voters are expected to exercise their franchise during the second phase of elections. Kullu district has a total of 3,17,476 registered voters, including 1,60,949 men and 1,56,527 women voters.

The second phase of polling will cover 13 panchayats in Ani block, 14 in Banjar block, 17 in Bhuntar block, 14 in Kullu block, 15 in Naggar block, and 12 in Nirmand block.

Officials said polling arrangements have been made in all designated panchayats and security measures have been strengthened to ensure the elections are conducted peacefully.
