Preparations for the upcoming Panchayati Raj Elections 2026 gathered pace in Himachal Pradesh’s Naggar Development Block as the first phase of training for election officials and staff was conducted on Tuesday at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mountaineering Institute in Manali.

The training programme was organised for officials and employees deployed to ensure the smooth, fair, and successful conduct of the elections in the 41 panchayats falling under the Naggar Development Block of the Manali Assembly constituency.

Addressing the participants, Block Development Officer Naggar, Mukesh, directed all election personnel to perform their duties with responsibility, impartiality, and alertness. He stressed the importance of thoroughly studying the Election Commission guidelines to avoid errors during the polling process.

Speaking to the media, Mukesh said all preparations for the Panchayat elections had been completed, and the election process had already begun across the development block. He said the first training session was aimed at equipping polling staff with detailed knowledge of election procedures and responsibilities.

During the session, officials were briefed on polling procedures, the management of election materials, the rules to be followed at polling stations, and other important aspects of the conduct of elections.

Mukesh said polling for the Panchayat elections will be held on May 26, 28, and 30. He added that results for the posts of Panchayat Pradhan, Up-Pradhan, and Panch will be declared on the same day as polling, while results for Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad elections will be announced on May 31.
