Manali, May 19
Petrol and diesel prices increased once again across India on Tuesday, marking the second hike within a week. After a Rs 3 rise on May 15, fuel rates were revised again, pushing petrol prices in Manali to Rs 99.25 per litre and diesel to Rs 91.23 per litre.
Locals and vehicle owners expressed concern about the repeated hikes, saying the increases would directly affect tourism and household expenses in Manali. Some petrol pumps in the region also reported temporary fuel shortages.
Taxi driver Amandeep, who arrived from Punjab, said repeated fuel hikes within a single week would affect everyone, especially transport operators. Petrol pump owner Amit Behal from Patlikuhal confirmed the latest price increase but said there was no fuel shortage at his station.
