Palampur, May 11
A tragic accident was reported from Bindraban Ward No. 7 in Palampur, where a power department employee lost his life after being electrocuted while repairing a fault in the electricity supply.
According to information, the employee had climbed an electric pole to carry out repair work when he suddenly came into contact with a live wire and suffered a severe electric shock. He died on the spot.
As soon as the incident occurred, local residents informed the police. An ambulance and police team rushed to the site immediately. However, the employee could not be saved.
Police officials, along with the electricity department, have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether any safety lapse was involved.
The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem examination.
