In a significant action under its ongoing anti-drug campaign, the Kangra Police arrested an accused and recovered narcotics along with cash during a raid in the village of Tarsuh.
According to police officials, a special team was on routine patrolling on May 6, 2026, when, acting on a tip-off, it conducted a raid on a residential house in Tarsuh village. During the search operation, the police recovered 12.18 grams of chitta (heroin), 14 intoxicating capsules, and ₹42,150 in cash from the possession of Sheru Ram (42), a resident of Tarsuh, Post Office Sakot, Tehsil and District Kangra.
The accused was arrested on the spot, and a case has been registered at Kangra Police Station under Sections 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
Police officials said the drive against drugs will continue with full intensity and warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in the illegal trade.
They also appealed to the public to share information related to drug trafficking, assuring that the identity of informants will remain strictly protected and confidential.
