Patiala, April 24

Former MP from Patiala, Dharamveer Gandhi, on Friday, alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party is indirectly aiding the BJP, claiming that recent political developments reflect a pattern of weakening Congress in states where governments were toppled.

Reacting to the issue of alleged support extended by Raghav Chadha and other Aam Aadmi Party members to the BJP, Gandhi said the developments were not surprising.

He alleged that in states where the BJP had weakened or brought down Congress governments, the Aam Aadmi Party subsequently contributed to reducing the Congress vote base.

Gandhi described the Aam Aadmi Party as lacking ideological consistency and questioned its political stance in light of recent developments.

He further claimed that there was nothing unexpected in the party’s political positioning, adding that the AAP functions as a “B-team” of the BJP.

The remarks are likely to intensify political debate in Punjab, with parties expected to respond to the allegations as political activity gathers pace ahead of upcoming electoral developments.
