Samana: Dharam Yudh Morcha sit-in on 400-feet BSNL tower to end after 18 months
Samana, April 23
A nearly 18-month-long protest atop a 400-feet-high BSNL tower in Samana is set to conclude on Wednesday, with Gurjeet Singh Khalsa expected to descend following a decision to wind up the Dharam Yudh Morcha sit-in.
The protest was launched to demand a stringent law against the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. According to information, the agitation is being concluded after the Punjab government passed a related bill, following which an understanding was reached between the administration and morcha representatives.
Officials said Khalsa will be brought down from the tower as part of the process to end the protest. However, due to the prolonged duration of his stay at such a height, he is reportedly unable to descend on his own.
The administration conducted a rehearsal on Tuesday to ensure safe evacuation arrangements. Officials said all necessary preparations have been completed, and he is expected to be brought down early Wednesday morning.
