North News India was founded by Mr. Lalit K. Sharma and was born out of a passion for storytelling and a deep connection to the region. With a background in journalism dating back to 2001, he had many stories to tell and came across many stories he believed deserved to be told.
As his advertising agency, Mantrin, grew into one of the largest advertising agencies in North India, he realised that the stories of the people, businesses, and culture of these local regions needed a platform.
In 2019, he began his ideation and the name North News came into being. Driven by the vision to spotlight the unique narratives of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, he pursued this as his passion project and started to bring it to life.
At North News India, our aim is to highlight stories that often go untold—stories that have the potential to uplift and shape the future of the region. Our mission is to cover positive, local stories that matter, with special focus on the “Upper North.”
North News isn’t just about reporting—it’s about fostering growth. We want to bring attention to the innovation and progress happening locally and tell them to the world, including people who have moved from their local region to foreign countries and want to feel connected with home.
Our team is dedicated to being the voice of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. By sharing stories from around the world and from within our communities, we aim to make the North a prosperous and vibrant place for all.
