Kangra, April 11
A security scare disrupted Kangra Airport operations on Saturday morning when an unattended bag was found in a washroom, leading authorities to suspend flights for nearly three hours.
The bag was found at approximately 8:30 am. Airport officials issued a security alert and evacuated the premises as a precaution. Passengers and staff were escorted out while security agencies secured the area.
A bomb disposal squad examined the bag, removing it from the washroom and inspecting it according to standard procedures. During this time, a flight from Delhi was halted and all airport operations were suspended.
After inspection, officials confirmed the bag belonged to a Dharamshala passenger who had inadvertently left it behind. No suspicious material was found.
Once cleared, normal flight operations resumed. Authorities urge passengers to stay alert and promptly report unattended items to help prevent similar incidents.
