Chandigarh, March 16
Several places in Punjab and Haryana were sprayed with light rain on Sunday, bringing maximum temperatures down by a few notches in both states.
According to the MeT department here, Chandigarh received 0.2 mm of rain, while in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala witnessed 5 mm, 1.2 mm and 2 mm of rainfall, respectively.
Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Sangrur, Mohali, Fazilka and Pathankot also witnessed a light shower.
Maximum temperatures in Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala were 21.8, 22.7 and 26.6 degrees Celsius, up to four degrees below normal.
In bordering Haryana, Ambala, Gurugram, and Karnal saw 0.3 mm, 1 mm and 3.5 mm of rainfall.
Ambala recorded a maximum of 26 degrees Celsius, while Hisar’s maximum was 28.5 degrees Celsius.
Mercury touched 26 and 30.2 degrees Celsius in Karnal and Narnaul.
