Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has approved the revival and recruitment of 115 posts in the state’s Homeopathy Department, in what he described as a major step to boost public healthcare capacity. Cheema said the proposal, cleared by the Finance Department, covers both technical and administrative roles. The move, he added, is expected to strengthen service delivery across homeopathic institutions in Punjab. According to details shared in an official statement, the recruitment plan includes 42 posts for Homeopathic Medical Officers, 72 posts for Homeopathic Dispensers and one post for a clerk. The hiring process will be carried out in phases over the next two years.  Cheema, who also chairs the cabinet subcommittee on employees’ issues, said the matter was discussed extensively with the Homeopathic Medical Officers Association. The department, he noted, had been operating at full capacity despite having only 22 permanent posts filled, underscoring the urgent need for revival.

Calling the decision a “decisive step,” the minister said it would strengthen healthcare infrastructure and create essential employment opportunities in the state.
