Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has dismissed speculation about his possible inclusion in the state cabinet, saying he is content with his current role and harbours no desire to become a minister. Pathania’s remarks come amid mounting discussion in political circles suggesting he might be inducted into Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s council of ministers. Speaking to reporters on Saturday during a blood donation camp at the Assembly complex, Pathania made it clear that he remains focused on his duties as Speaker.
“I am fully satisfied with the responsibility I currently hold,” Pathania said. “There is no question of aspiring to a ministerial berth.” The Speaker took the opportunity to commend the state Assembly staff for organising the voluntary blood donation drive, noting that such initiatives reflect a deep sense of public service.
He also congratulated the Indian Army for the successful completion of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a display of courage and commitment. “The Indian Army has once again proved its valour. The entire country is proud of their efforts,” he said.
