BJP Punjab chief Sunil Jakhar has criticised the AAP-led Punjab government for withdrawing the security cover of Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, cautioning against political vendetta in such decisions. Jakhar, in a post on X, formerly Twitter, said the issue of whether the move was politically motivated was a “debate for another day” but stressed that “personal whims and fancies” should not dictate governance.
He drew parallels with the security withdrawal of singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in 2022. “The CM must learn from his mistakes and keep politics aside, letting the law take its own course,” Jakhar wrote. He added that settling personal scores through such actions undermines the office of the chief minister.
