India and the United States have vowed to take decisive action against Khalistani extremists and illegal immigration networks, reinforcing their commitment to law enforcement cooperation. The pledge was announced following bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump in Washington DC.

At a joint press conference, Modi stressed the need to dismantle human trafficking networks exploiting vulnerable individuals with false promises of migration. Trump affirmed his administration’s commitment to extraditing criminals, stating, “There are more (extraditions) to follow… We work with India on crime, and we want to make it good for India.”

Recognizing the global mobility of talent, Modi and Trump resolved to streamline legal migration channels while taking strong measures against human traffickers and illegal immigration networks. They reaffirmed their joint determination to combat organized crime, narco-terrorism, and elements that threaten national security and diplomatic safety.

Both leaders underscored the significance of people-to-people ties, acknowledging that Indian students contribute over $8 billion annually to the US economy. They committed to fostering academic collaborations, including dual degrees, offshore campuses, and research partnerships to build a future-ready workforce.

The leaders pledged to maintain high-level engagements across governments, industries, and academic institutions, strengthening an enduring India-US partnership aimed at mutual prosperity and global stability.
