Police reached the Ratpur Colony house after family members raised an alarm

Pinjore: A 35-year-old man was found hanging inside a room at his home in Ratpur Colony, Pinjore, early Wednesday, following which police began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The deceased was identified as Nikhil, the only son of his mother and the son of a former school principal. Family members found him hanging inside the room and brought him down before informing the police.

A police team reached the house after receiving the information, inspected the scene, and collected relevant evidence. The body was taken into custody and kept at the mortuary of Kalka hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police said the post-mortem report and findings of the ongoing inquiry would help establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

According to the family, Nikhil had been undergoing treatment and was reportedly distressed following the death of his father. However, police have not established any particular reason for the death, and the circumstances remain under investigation.

Family members said Nikhil was unmarried and had a sister. He was his mother’s only son.

Police are examining the available evidence and other circumstances before deciding on further action. The exact cause and circumstances of the death will be assessed on the basis of the post-mortem report and the investigation.
