President-elect Donald Trump once again proposed that Canada should become the 51st state of the United States, sharing maps of the potential merger on his social media account, Truth Social. Trump suggested that merging with the US would eliminate tariffs, lower taxes, and provide greater security against Russian and Chinese naval threats. “Together, what a great Nation it would be!!!” he wrote.
Reacting to Trump’s comments, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who announced his resignation on Monday, dismissed the idea, stating, “There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States.”
In a separate post on X, billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and X, addressed Trudeau, saying, “Girl, you’re not the governor of Canada anymore.”
