Punjab suspends 25 jail officials in corruption crackdown

The Punjab government has suspended 25 prison officials across various jails in the state as part of a major anti-corruption drive, officials said. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered the action in a bid to improve the functioning of the prison system, which has long faced allegations of mismanagement and corruption. Among those suspended are three deputy superintendents and two assistant superintendents.
