Chandigarh, January 22
In a significant development, Punjab Police have busted a Pakistan-based arms smuggling module, recovering four .30 bore PX-5 STORM pistols and arresting one suspect. The arrested individual, who had returned from Dubai, UAE, last month, is believed to have established contact with a Pakistani smuggler during his stay abroad. Investigations conducted by Amritsar Rural Police revealed that further weapons were smuggled across the Indo-Pak border.

Sharing details on the social media platform, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrest and stated that an FIR has been filed. He assured that strict action would be taken against all individuals involved in organized crime and illegal weapon networks. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover both backward and forward linkages to identify the source of the firearms and the extent of the trafficking network, he added.
