The Punjab School Education Department on Tuesday organised a one-day training and interaction program with experts from the University of Turku, Finland, to enhance primary education standards. The initiative aims to equip government primary school teachers with advanced teaching techniques and improve their understanding of classroom realities, Minister for School and Higher Education Harjot Singh Bains said. The session, held at MGSIPA, included 296 participants, comprising 273 primary teachers and 23 district elementary officers. Bains highlighted the success of an earlier three-week training program in Finland for 72 teachers, calling the orientation a significant step towards world-class education in Punjab.
Welcoming Finnish experts Ari Kioski, Mirjami Einola, and Sari Isokytö-Sinjoi, Secretary of School Education Kamal Kishor Yadav thanked them for their contribution. He emphasized that the training would help teachers adopt stress-free and enjoyable learning methods, fostering students’ overall development. Senior officials, including Special Secretary Churchil Kumar and SCERT Director Amaninder Kaur Brar, also attended the program.
