Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the 60th All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police, scheduled for November 29–30 at the Indian Institute of Management in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The three-day meeting, which runs from November 28 to 30, will assess progress on key policing challenges and outline a roadmap for building a “Surakshit Bharat” in line with the national vision of “Viksit Bharat”.

Held under the theme Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions, the conference will feature detailed discussions on Left-wing extremism, counter-terrorism, disaster management, women’s safety, and the use of forensic science and artificial intelligence in policing. The Prime Minister will also present the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service.

The event serves as an important forum for senior police leaders and security administrators from across India to exchange views on national security, operational hurdles, infrastructure needs and welfare-related concerns within police forces. It also provides a platform to discuss best practices for crime prevention, law-and-order management and responses to internal security threats.

Modi has maintained a strong engagement with the annual conference since 2014, encouraging open dialogue and new ideas in policing. Business sessions, break-out interactions and thematic discussions will allow officers to share perspectives directly with the Prime Minister. The conference format has been upgraded over the past decade, with editions held in diverse locations including Guwahati, the Rann of Kutch, Hyderabad, Tekanpur, Kevadiya, Pune, Lucknow, New Delhi, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar. This year’s meeting continues that approach with Raipur as the host city.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the National Security Adviser, Ministers of State for Home Affairs, state and UT police chiefs and heads of Central Police Organisations will attend. To encourage innovation, state and UT Home Department heads and selected field-level officers in the ranks of DIG and SP will also participate in person.
