India’s leading adhesives and construction chemicals maker Pidilite Industries Limited will set up a new manufacturing facility in Punjab with an investment of about ₹300 crore, Punjab’s Industry and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora said on Wednesday. Sanjeev Arora said the plant would be located across villages Majri Faqiran and Sohne Majra in the Rajpura area of Punjab’s Patiala district, spread over around 31 acres.
The facility will manufacture water-based adhesives and waterproofing products, with a planned annual capacity of 200,000 metric tonnes. This will include 140,000 tonnes of adhesives and 60,000 tonnes of waterproofing materials. Production will largely serve the domestic market, with potential for exports to neighbouring countries at a later stage.
Arora said the project was expected to generate about 300 jobs, including direct and indirect employment across skilled, semi-skilled and supervisory roles. He added that the unit would be equipped with modern manufacturing systems and dedicated environmental, health and safety measures. Founded in 1969, Pidilite is best known for its flagship brand Fevicol and has a strong presence in adhesives, sealants, construction chemicals and specialty industrial products.
According to the Minister, the Punjab facility forms part of the company’s plan to expand its manufacturing base in northern India to meet rising regional demand. The project will be funded through internal resources and is expected to begin commercial operations by December 2027.
He said the investment reflected Punjab’s growing appeal as a manufacturing hub, citing improved infrastructure, connectivity and what he described as a supportive policy environment for investors.
