Jammu/Pathankot/Chandigarh, November 20
A Nagar Kirtan marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, received an enthusiastic welcome from the Sikh sangat in Jammu as the procession continued its onward journey towards Pathankot. Devotees walked barefoot for long stretches during the reception last night and again on Tuesday morning, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere across the city. The procession halted briefly at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Chand Nagar for prayers and offerings.

Sikh youth performed traditional Gatka demonstrations as the Nagar Kirtan departed from Jammu, while the sangat showered flowers on the palanquin carrying Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. A large group of devotees also joined the onward yatra towards Sri Anandpur Sahib, where the main commemorative events will be held. Gurdwaras across Jammu lined the route to welcome the procession. Singh Sabha Gurdwara Akali Kaur Singh Nagar in Digiana, Sri Sant Mela Singh Ji Dastkari Ashram, and Singh Sabha Gurdwara Digiana Camp were among those offering greetings, langar and floral tributes.

In Dogyal and Amar, members of the Kashmiri Sikh community organised a special kahwa langar. Further stops at Kunjuwani, Sarore, Vijaypur and Bari Brahmana saw local leaders and devotees extend warm receptions and community meals. Upon its late-night arrival in Jammu, a special congregation was held at Manda, coordinated by the District Gurdwara Management Committee and supported by several gurdwara bodies across the city. Senior community representatives, including RTO Jammu Jasveer Singh and Gurdwara leaders from various localities, were present at the ceremony.
