External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on 21 August, the Russian foreign ministry has confirmed. Dr Jaishankar will also hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during the visit. The meeting comes days after US President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet Putin in Alaska on August 15.
The visit follows National Security Adviser Ajit Doval’s recent meeting with Putin and is seen as part of New Delhi’s ongoing diplomatic outreach to Moscow amid shifting global dynamics.
