Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday emphasized India’s achievements as a reflection of the power of democracy, demography, digitalization, and delivery. Speaking at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 and the Rajasthan Global Business Expo at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), he praised India’s democratic resilience, youthful population, and advancements in digital infrastructure.

Modi described India’s success in empowering democracy as remarkable in a nation as diverse as India. He called democracy’s role in uplifting humanity central to the country’s philosophy, adding that India’s youth are its biggest asset. “India is set to remain one of the youngest countries in the world for years to come,” he said, pointing to initiatives aimed at enhancing youth skills to maximize their potential.

The Prime Minister lauded India’s transformation into a global economic power, citing its rise from the 11th largest economy after seven decades of independence to the 5th largest in just the past decade. Modi noted that the nation’s economy and exports have nearly doubled, with Foreign Direct Investment growing more than twofold since 2014. Infrastructure spending has also surged to ₹11 trillion from ₹2 trillion.

Modi stressed that technological advancements and digital ecosystems are driving India’s progress. He highlighted that the number of internet users has quadrupled in the last decade and that digital transactions are reaching record levels. Platforms like UPI, the Direct Benefit Transfer System, and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), he said, are examples of how technology is transforming every sector.

He expressed optimism about Rajasthan’s growth, stating that as India’s largest state by area, its progress significantly impacts the nation’s development. Modi praised Rajasthan’s industrious and resilient people, attributing the state’s rising reputation to their efforts.

Acknowledging the achievements of Rajasthan’s government, Modi congratulated the Chief Minister and his team for prioritizing development alongside heritage conservation. He commended their rapid work in areas such as poverty alleviation, youth employment, infrastructure, and crime control. The government’s reforms, he said, have fostered optimism among citizens and investors alike.

“Rajasthan is not just a rising state but also a reliable one,” Modi remarked, underscoring its adaptability, strength in facing challenges, and ability to create new opportunities. He concluded by expressing confidence in the state’s continued success under its reformist and responsive leadership.
