India has evacuated a group of students from Tehran, citing safety concerns amid escalating tensions between the Israel-Iran, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday. The Indian embassy in Iran coordinated the movement of students out of the capital, while advising other Indian nationals who have access to private transport to also leave the city. The move comes in response to what the ministry described as a “developing situation”, though no specific threats were detailed.
In a parallel development, several Indian citizens were facilitated to exit Iran through its border with Armenia, the MEA spokesperson confirmed. Officials said the embassy remains in constant touch with the Indian community in Iran and continues to extend “all feasible assistance”. The ministry added that further advisories may be issued as the situation on the ground remains fluid.
