Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated astronaut Sunita Williams and her Crew-9 teammates on their safe return to Earth, calling their mission a testament to human resilience and determination.
“Welcome back, Crew-9! The Earth missed you,” Modi wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday. “Theirs has been a test of grit, courage, and the boundless human spirit. Sunita Williams and the Crew-9 astronauts have once again shown us what perseverance truly means.”
Praising their dedication, Modi said their “unwavering determination in the face of the vast unknown” would continue to inspire millions. He described space exploration as a pursuit that pushes the limits of human potential, daring individuals to dream and turn those dreams into reality.
Williams, he noted, has long exemplified these qualities, standing as a “trailblazer and an icon.” Modi also commended those who worked to ensure the crew’s safe return, emphasizing the fusion of precision, passion, technology, and tenacity that defined the mission.
