Senior BJP leaders in Himachal Pradesh on Friday launched a sharp attack on the state’s Congress government, accusing it of spending its three years in office on internal disputes and criticism of the opposition rather than addressing public concerns. State BJP president Rajeev Bindal, state in-charge Shrikant Sharma and organisational general secretary Siddharthan reviewed preparations at the site where BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda will lay the foundation stone for the party’s new state headquarters in Shimla on Saturday. Bindal said thousands of workers were expected to welcome Nadda during his first visit to Himachal after the NDA’s victory in Bihar.

Bindal criticised the state government’s three-year report event, saying it lacked any substantive agenda for development and focused instead on attacking the BJP. He alleged that the Congress had failed to fulfil previous commitments and that its new promises carried little credibility. A government that “has not met a single major commitment in three years cannot expect public trust”, he said.

Sharma echoed the criticism, calling the Congress programme a display of “internal squabbling” rather than governance. He said the party was losing relevance nationally and in Himachal Pradesh, arguing that its leadership remained preoccupied with “pleasing the Gandhi family” instead of serving the public.

The BJP leaders said Nadda’s visit and the groundbreaking ceremony would energise the organisation and strengthen the party’s connection with workers across the state.
