Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday issued a stern warning to organisations and unions staging disruptive protests, saying such actions would no longer be tolerated in the state. In a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, Mann urged protestors to adopt alternative forms of demonstration that do not impede public life or inconvenience ordinary citizens. “There are other ways to raise your voice — blocking roads, stopping trains, or creating hardship for the public is not acceptable,” he wrote.

The Chief Minister appealed to all institutions and unions to reflect on the broader impact of their actions, stating that protests must not come at the cost of daily life and public welfare. “Otherwise,” he cautioned, “be ready for strict legal action.”

Mann said that while dissent is a democratic right, any form of agitation that affects the hardworking people of Punjab would be considered unjust and subject to consequences.
