NASA astronaut Sunita Williams and her crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS) are gearing up to celebrate Christmas in space, as revealed by NASA’s Johnson Space Center. In two photos shared on social media, Williams is seen adding festive cheer. One photo features the veteran astronaut donning a Santa hat, while another highlights a cargo delivery to the ISS that included supplies and holiday gifts for the crew.
“Another day, another sleigh,” NASA’s Johnson Space Center captioned a post on X (formerly Twitter), adding, “NASA astronauts Don Pettit and Suni Williams pose for a fun holiday season portrait while speaking on a ham radio inside the Space Station’s Columbus laboratory module.”
In a separate post, NASA added a playful twist: “You’ve heard of an elf on a shelf, but what about a reindeer made from space gear? NASA launches packages of cargo and research supplies to station year-round, unlike Santa’s annual delivery. Today, station sent back experiments via Dragon (not reindeer) for further analysis on Earth.”
