In a move to enhance governance and make public services more accessible, Punjab Governance Reforms Minister Aman Arora announced the expansion of the “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar” scheme. With 363 new additions, the scheme now provides doorstep delivery of 406 government services, including Aadhaar card issuance, driving licenses, and passport applications. These services, previously available at Sewa Kendras, can now be accessed from home. Flagging off ‘Sewa Sahayaks’ at MGSIPA, Arora highlighted that the scheme, launched on December 10, 2023, with 43 services, has now expanded to cover 29 government departments. The initiative includes essential services such as police verifications, utility connections, district authority NOCs, and tenant verifications, ensuring swift and hassle-free service delivery.

The minister noted that the scheme has received over 92,000 applications, all processed on time, sparing citizens the need to visit government offices. He emphasized that the initiative addresses long-standing bureaucratic hurdles, eliminating long queues and streamlining government processes. Over the past two years, Punjab’s government has significantly digitized its services, delivering over 77 lakh certificates digitally. Citizens now receive government-approved documents directly on their mobile phones. Additionally, Patwaris, Sarpanches, Nambardars, and Municipal Corporation officials have been integrated into the digital system, processing over nine lakh applications online. Public feedback is central to improving service quality, with 12.95 lakh citizens rating the scheme, giving it an average score of 4.1 out of 5.

“These reforms are about creating a more responsive and accountable government,” said Arora. “I urge citizens to take advantage of these expanded services and experience their convenience and transparency firsthand. Our goal is to build a Punjab where every citizen feels valued and empowered.” Director of Governance Reforms Girish Dayalan reaffirmed the department’s commitment to enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery.
