India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said that the Indian Embassy in Georgia is working closely with local authorities to expedite the repatriation of the mortal remains of 11 Indian nationals who died in Gudauri, a mountain resort in Georgia. In an official statement, the MEA expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and conveyed condolences to the bereaved families. “We are committed to providing all possible support,” the statement added.
Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the victims found dead at a local restaurant, succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning. Local police have ruled out signs of injury or violence, according to media reports. The Indian Embassy in Tbilisi is coordinating with local authorities and remains in contact with the families of the deceased to ensure prompt assistance.
