Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday emphasized the urgent need to address political divisiveness in the country, urging leaders to prioritize national welfare over short-term gains. “We must harmonize our differences and moderate the political temperature with rational minds. Our actions must be guided by one consideration—the welfare of the nation,” Dhankhar said, stressing India’s role as a cultural and spiritual epicenter for humanity.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony of Sri Sanidhya Queue Complex at Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala in Karnataka today, Dhankhar criticized the prevalence of VIP culture in temples, calling it an aberration that undermines equality. “The very concept of VIP darshan militates against divinity and equality. Religious institutions should be exemplars of inclusivity, and precedence accorded to VVIPs diminishes the universal tenet of equality,” he said. He urged temples to abandon such practices permanently.
The Vice President also appealed to religious institutions to educate the youth on India’s civilizational heritage. “Our younger generation must connect with the depth of our cultural and spiritual gold mine to preserve this invaluable legacy,” he stated.
Speaking at the Sanidhya Queue Complex, Dhankhar lauded the structure as a symbol of inclusivity and service under the divine gaze of Bhagwan Sri Manjunath. “This is more than a building; it reflects our collective commitment to harmony and hospitality,” he added.
