US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to visit India next month. Washington and New Delhi are set to strengthen their growing partnership, with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio planning a visit to the Indian capital next month. The announcement came after India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held a series of high-level meetings in Washington. In one of the key discussions, Misri had what both sides called a “productive meeting” with Secretary Rubio at the White House. The conversation focused on deepening bilateral ties, particularly in trade, critical minerals, defence cooperation, and the future of the Quad grouping. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor shared the positive outcome on X, saying Secretary Rubio is now looking forward to travelling to India next month. Misri also held fruitful talks with other senior American officials, including Under Secretary of State Allison Hooker and Jacob Helberg.

Sharing details, MEA official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that they reviewed the full range of India-US strategic relations and explored ways to boost collaboration in cutting-edge areas such as semiconductors, quantum technology, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and resilient supply chains. The two sides also discussed the Pax Silica initiative and exchanged views on regional and global issues, including the situation in the Persian Gulf. MEA official spokesperson further said in his post on X. A US State Department statement described the meetings as constructive, highlighting the close and growing partnership between the two countries. The upcoming visit by Rubio is being seen as an important opportunity to translate these warm discussions into tangible progress on trade, technology, and security cooperation.
