Two private schools in Moga were evacuated on Wednesday after they received bomb threat emails, triggering a swift response from the police. Officials said DN Model School in Kot Ise Khan area and Cambridge School received the threat at around 08:36 am. DSP Gurpreet Singh said that police and security agencies are jointly probing the matter and there was no immediate cause for concern.
The Police officials said that the bomb disposal and dog squads were deployed to conduct detailed searches of the premises. The incident caused panic as the schools had reopened on the same day after a 20-day break and a large number of students present. Parents were informed promptly and all children were sent home safely, the officials said. The Police said no suspicious object had been found so far, but searches were continuing. The Police officials have launched an investigation to trace the source of the emails.
