Chandigarh, January 7

The Tarn Taran police arrested two associates of gangster Prabhdeep Singh, alias Prabh Dasuwal, following a brief exchange of fire on Tuesday. The suspects, identified as Karanpreet Singh and Gurlaljit Singh, attacked officers and attempted to flee during the operation. Police acted in self-defense, leading to injuries to both suspects, who are now in stable condition at the Civil Hospital, according to authorities, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said. A .32 bore pistol with live cartridges and an Activa scooter allegedly used in firing incidents were recovered from the duo. Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to combating organized crime and maintaining peace in the region, with further investigations underway, the DGP further said in his post on X previously known as Twitter.
