Dharamshala, April 11
BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Dharamshala, alleging that the Chief Minister has been repeatedly referring to “false guarantees” during his public addresses.
Sharma claimed that the Chief Minister has been stating that the state government has provided ₹1,500 each to all women and is now extending the benefit to men as well, while asserting that the ground reality does not match these claims.
Taking a dig at Sukhu’s vision for the state, the BJP MLA said the Chief Minister has been talking about making Himachal Pradesh financially strong by 2027 and positioning it as the richest state in the country by 2032. He alleged that these claims reflect a disconnect from the situation on the ground and said it appears the Chief Minister is not fully aware of developments in the state.
Sharma further alleged that the condition of Himachal Pradesh has worsened under the current government. He said the state has witnessed deterioration during the Sukhu administration and claimed that such a situation had not been seen before.
Questioning the government’s performance, the MLA said no concrete work has been done on the ground during its tenure. He also referred to the recent budget speech, alleging that it lacked meaningful announcements for the public.
He further accused the Chief Minister of making contradictory statements, alleging that government leaders often change their stand and make different claims on the same issues at different times.
Concluding his remarks, Sudhir Sharma said he would rate the Chief Minister’s performance as “minus 10 out of 10.”
