New Delhi, March 17
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday asked the government to form groups of MPs to guide them on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna to enhance their understanding of the key scheme.
When Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was responding to supplementaries during the Question Hour, Birla proposed creation of such groups.
The minister agreed with the idea.
The scheme provides farmers with affordable insurance coverage against crop losses due to natural disasters.
