Around 1,000 artists from across 20 Indian states will converge in Shimla for the 70th All India Theatre and Dance Competition, scheduled to take place from June 6 to June 10, said Television actor Rohitashv Gour, best known for his role in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, who also serves as AIAA president.

The event, hosted by the All India Artists Association (AIAA), will feature performances by theatre troupes from 13 states. While addressing the press conference, Gour said the event will go beyond the stage, integrating social awareness campaigns. “We will organise street plays and rallies on themes like clean Himachal and drug-free India,” he said.

Following the competition, a special cultural evening titled Kala Kumbh Shimla will be held on June 11, showcasing classical dance performances by renowned artists from across the country. Street plays will also be performed on Mall Road the same day. The AIAA also plans to honour individuals who have made notable contributions to Indian art, theatre, and cultural heritage.
