Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is in stable condition after undergoing neurosurgery and plastic surgery, hospital officials said. Saif was stabbed six times during a burglary attempt at his Mumbai residence around 2:30 am on Thursday, police said. The intruder entered a children’s room, prompting a confrontation with a maid. After noises were heard, Saif intervened, leading to a scuffle during which the attacker stabbed him, causing two deep wounds, one near his spinal cord, police added. His wife, Kareena Kapoor, and sons, Taimur and Jeh, were at home during the incident. Mumbai Police have launched an investigation to track down the attacker. “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khans residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. Saif, severely bleeding from six stab wounds, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw by his elder son Ibrahim following a shocking knife attack last night, the NDTV reported. Ibrahim, 23, also an actor, assisted his father into the three-wheeler after failing to find a car ready to leave. In a race against time, the father and son quickly boarded the auto-rickshaw and headed to the hospital, located about two kilometers from their Bandra residence. A video taken shortly after the attack shows Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, standing by the auto-rickshaw and conversing with the household staff, the news outlet said.
