Punjab has attracted investment proposals worth ₹94,203 crore since March 2022, with the potential to generate over four lakh jobs, state Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announced on Monday. He credited the green stamp paper initiative and the government’s industry-friendly policies for boosting investor confidence.

The green stamp paper initiative, designed to streamline land acquisition for industries, ensures transparency by requiring all necessary approvals before issuance. This online process eliminates fraud risks and allows seamless registration of sale deeds, Cabinet Minister Sond explained.

Highlighting Punjab’s pro-business environment, he invited industrialists to invest in the state, emphasizing policies that enable small and medium enterprises to begin operations with minimal bureaucratic hurdles. Entrepreneurs can start businesses with an affidavit, completing documentation within three years.

The initiative has also expedited regulatory approvals, with pre-clearances from six key departments—including Revenue, Housing and Urban Development, and the Punjab Pollution Control Board—being processed through a single-window system. Sond reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering industrial growth and creating a favorable investment climate.
