Punjab Police have arrested Hardik Kamboj, the prime accused in the grenade attack on a YouTuber, acting on credible intelligence. Kamboj was apprehended in Haryana’s Yamunanagar on Monday. During a recovery operation in the Maqsudan police station area, he attempted to flee, prompting police to take “necessary action” in self-defense, Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said. The suspect sustained a leg injury and was taken to Civil Hospital, Jalandhar, for treatment, the DGP said.

The Police have recovered a .32 bore pistol and six live rounds from Kamboj. Unidentified attackers hurled a grenade at a YouTuber’s home in Jalandhar reportedly in response to his alleged derogatory comments about Islam. Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti later claimed responsibility for the attack in a video posted on social media.
