In a significant breakthrough against organised crime, Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested two operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi–Rohit Godara gang in Mohali. The duo, identified as Jashan Sandhu and Gursewak Singh, are suspected of involvement in a series of serious criminal activities spanning multiple states and countries
Sharing details in his post on X, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Sandhu had been on the run for over a year in connection with a 2023 murder case in Ganganagar of Rajasthan. He is believed to have criss-crossed countries including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates in a bid to avoid capture. His journey ended after he entered India though Nepal, travelling by road following a flight from Dubai.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Sandhu played a pivotal role in facilitating logistical operations for the gang. The Police said his questioning has revealed critical leads, including details of Hawala operators, travel agents, and the whereabouts of fugitive gang members hiding overseas. The arrests, police claim, have helped thwart potential violent incidents in Punjab and New Delhi. A .32 calibre pistol and seven live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
