In a major operation, the Punjab Police have busted two illegal arms smuggling modules with alleged links to Pakistan and arrested four people, including a juvenile. Sharing details, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the accused were in direct contact with Pakistan-based smugglers and collected weapon consignments near the international border. The arms were reportedly intended to escalate gang rivalries and disturb regional peace. Seven pistols were recovered in the operation, including a 9mm weapon, a Glock, and other .30 and .32 bore firearms, alongside six live cartridges and a motorcycle. Police registered cases at Gate Hakima and B-Division police stations. A deeper investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and broader network involved. The Punjab Police said it remains committed to dismantling such modules and ensuring public safety.
