Chandigarh, November 6

The Punjab Government will host the second phase of Light and Sound Shows on November 8 across Gurdaspur, Faridkot, Fazilka, and Hoshiarpur districts, marking the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announced on Thursday. Sond said the shows, organised under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aim to spread the teachings and sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji — the ninth Sikh Guru revered for his defence of religious freedom and human values.

The Minister said the programme in Gurdaspur will be held at ITI Batala, attended by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak. In Faridkot, the event will take place at Nehru Stadium in the presence of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.

In Fazilka, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sports Stadium will host the show, with Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, as chief guest. Meanwhile, the Hoshiarpur show will be held at Multipurpose Outdoor Stadium, Lajwanti, attended by Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, Local Government and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, and MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal.

According to Sond, the shows use modern laser lights and 3D projection technology to portray Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life, philosophy, and martyrdom. “The idea is to inspire the youth to follow Guru Sahib’s teachings of courage, compassion, and faith,” he said.

Sond added that the first phase of these shows, held on November 4 in Patiala, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Pathankot, received wide appreciation from devotees. He urged people to attend the upcoming shows with their families.

He also confirmed that the next round of Light and Sound Shows will be held on November 11, 14, 17, and 20 in the remaining districts of Punjab.
