Punjab’s Industry and Commerce Minister, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, announced that the state has secured investments worth over Rs 86,000 crore in the past two and a half years. This achievement, he noted, reflects the success of the state’s industry-friendly policies under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Since March 2022, Punjab has received more than 5,300 investment proposals, leading to investments worth Rs 86,541 crore, creating jobs for nearly 3.92 lakh people, Sond revealed.

Notable investments include contributions from major companies such as Tata Steel Limited (Rs 2,600 crore), Sanathan Polycoat Private Limited (Rs 1,600 crore), Ambuja Cements Limited (Rs 1,400 crore), and Nestle India Limited (Rs 583 crore), among others.

Sond urged national and international investors to explore opportunities in Punjab, highlighting the peaceful and conducive business environment the state offers. He reassured investors that the Mann-led government would offer full support, ensuring quick establishment of new businesses, particularly for small and medium enterprises. The state’s “Invest Punjab” portal, which ranks first among 28 states for efficiency, has already helped nearly 58,000 new small and medium enterprises get started.

Sond also shared that ongoing meetings with business representatives would influence future industrial policies, and he expressed confidence that Punjab’s industrial sector would continue to grow, attracting further investments.
